My computer has a NVIDIA Quadro 4000k graphics card installed (4000 MB VRAM). All versions of Photoshop CC prior to the current version (i.e. prior to the November update of CC 2015) are able to use the NVIDIA graphic card's VRAM but since Photoshop CC 2015's, November release, the program is unable to find the NVIDIA card, and defaults to the basic video display (Intel HD Graphics 4000), which has only 64gig of VRAM ...which is used to run non resource-intense programs on the computer (a power saver, I guess). I have programmed NVIDIA (using the NVIDIA control panel) to use the NVIDIA Quadro K4000 whenever Photoshop is opened and when Photoshop CC 2015 is opened, the NVIDIA GPU activity indicator shows that it is, in fact being being made available to Photoshop CC 2015. However, when I check the performance tab in the prefs, the portion of dialog has the OpenGL video information grayed out and when I open an image, I receive an error :
"3D features and some filters (Flame/Tree?Picture Frame) require a minimum of 512 MB of vRAM. Photoshop has detected less than that on your system".
What is happening with the newest release of this program? Why can't I use the NVIDIA video card with 4000MB of VRAM? I specifically included this extra VRAM card for graphics-intensive work, including 3D modeling in PS As I said, I had NO problem using the NVIDIA card with any of the previous Photoshop CC releases, either 2014 or 2015 prior to the latest update, in November.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks you.
