I have been working on an image in PS and have a number of layers. First, several adjustment layers. Then I am doing miscellaneous clean ups (mostly with the clone tool). I make a selection and then create a new layer. I'm on one of the new layers, I have made a selection to move a part of the image, typed control-J but this time I get the error message: "Could not make a new layer from the selection because the selected area is empty." I understand the error message but what would you suggest to go forward?
