Hi,
This is it: I import all of the pics in a CF card, renaming by suffixing a shoot name leaving the original number (like so: shootName-4678.CR2) for some shoot called shootName.
Then I continue taking pictures using the CF card (without erasing it or formatting it). Normally I am in the field (or for instance in some distance place traveling) and I prefer to always keep my CF cards as a backup; at the same time I want to start looking and working on the photos taken so far, instead of at the end of the shoot or trip. This already implies an incremental importing of photos.
All the time I am using the same renaming of files, so that files already imported should not be imported again (and YES I have the don't import suspected duplicates option ON). However they are!!
So, how is Lightroom comparing names from cards to those in the catalog?
Thanks,
Juan
