Unlisted Youtube clips shows the prob in action. Let me just say in advance…THANK YOU for any help with regard to this, I desperately need an answer…
My System Max OSX 10.9.5
Memory 32 GB
Adobe Premiere Pro CC
external drive Pegasus 32 TB
My footage has a tornado which in 1 sec is illuminated by a lightning strike and you can clearly see the tornado and lightning strike, actually in that 1 second span you can see a subdued lightning strike and then also a quick lighted illumination again of the tornado.
I captured the footage into a Premiere Pro CC project. Upon viewing The capture scratch mpeg through quicktime it shows the footage exactly as described above w/lightning bolt and tornado. WHEN I IMPORT the capture scratch footage into the project and then into the timeline, then view the footage in the source window or viewer window at FULL or any resolution THAT SECOND OF FOOTAGE with the lightning bolt does not appear…what I see is a faint very faint lightening of the overall scene. By know means does the lightning bolt oversaturate any portion of this frame, so that isn’t an issue. It is as if portions of all that happen in that 1 second have disappeared, of the lightning strike does not appear.
I have a deadline to get this out…tornado with lightning strike it is the only footage of this particular event. The footage is from 2008 and I made a youtube clip then but with a windows computer and God only knows what crappy editing system I used then. I do not have access to any of those files to just remove the watermarks, etc. You can view the youtube clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44AorUnqQhg in the first few seconds of that clip you can see the a frame grab of the portion of video that I can not seem to see when editing in Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Also please do not judge me on my editing skills I have come a very long way since those days as you can see from this clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUGwDdzTk4w and other clips on our TornadoAlleyVideo YouTube Channel. Thanks for any and all help.
