When trying to edit text and fonts in Acrobat Pro 11 I keep getting a message saying acrobat has encountered an unknown error?

I have just downloaded Acrobat Pro V 11.0.0 and tried to edit an existing PDF file. When I try to do this I receive a message that Acrobat has encountered an unknown error - what am I doing wrong?.
