Do we know what your operating system is? What happens if the other printers, or just the printer being used in error, is offline? Turned off for instance? What about image size? If the image is too big to fit an A4 sheet, and the printer being used has A3 capabilities? I can't say that I have ever heard of Photoshop in particular having those sort of smarts.
It was that sort of machine self awareness that inspired the Terminator movies.
