Going back to the thing about Encore transcoding, and I suppose this is a moot point because Encore will not be upgraded,
There are a variety of problems with Encore, but it (was CS6 the first?) allows using AME for transcoding of assets for timelines. That improved it greatly. But in the end, and especially with CC, importing Blu-ray files gets the best results.
