On the Mac Book pro did you trash the prefs after updating to OSX 10.10.2?
If not, give it a try, it will do no harm.
Quit Elements.
Launch Finder and find the user Library by clicking the Go menu whilst holding down the Optn (alt) key (n.b. the library is hidden until you press the optn key) and inside the Library folder select the preferences folder. Then trash the following files:
Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Settings
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Re-launch Elements
