You might think about creating your own Folder structure, IE Making, Naming, folders yourself, Copying your images from your cameras memory card to those folders then importing those images from those folders by selecting Add in the Import dialog window to Add them to the LR catalog.
I personally don't care for the way LR creates sub-folders and the names of those folder. So I do as I stated above. This is especially true when I have a couple of days of images on a card. I like my images to be in Dated sub-folders. But as I look at your folder structure/naming you name them by project.
