I have been designing my magazine for print for the past 10 years but I am eyeing semi-retirement soon. I’d like to farm out the editing and design of the magazine to a friend of mine so I can begin the transition toward retirement. But since I will be semi-retiring, I will still need to retain the entire InDesign product he produces so that I can keep the back issues archived and I can control the uploading of the issue to our press’ remote site, etc.
What is the best way for my friend to send me the entire finished product? Would he package the entire product? And what does that entail? Does it package all of the images, stories, etc.? I’ll need to be able to archive these issues, etc., and will want to continue producing digital versions using Adobe’s animation, so that’s another reason I’ll need the entire product returned to me.
Thanks for any help.
