How do I evenly space horizontal menu buttons?

I'm following the tutorial for Kate's Cafe (on part 3,http://www.adobekb.com/building_your_first_website_pt03.html#adding) and I am trying to customize the header menu. According to the directions I should use the default settings. Later, I am to place the logo over the menu so the "home" button in underneath the logo, so when you click the logo it takes you to the home page.

I used the Menu> Horizontal option. Here is what mine look like:

The problem is my menu buttons are not evenly spaced, but stretched out.

Also, I noticed on some online tutorials that others have a Menu>Bar option, is it related to that?

I checked and my Application Manager says my version is up to date (I use creative cloud).
