Answer is that you tiff16's are exported with Mac-Byte Ordering - assuming that you are running on Windows like me.Sp you have to re-export with other software, since most other software doesn't suffer...

You need version 5.4 minimum, current version of LR is 5.7.1. Alternatively you could convert (outside LR) the RAW files to DNG files using the Adobe DNG converter and import them into LR.
